Here is my type being used in a mockup magazine design. I feel my typeface could be seen on a streetwear brand or in a stylish magazine relating to music or fashion such as Fader, Brick or complex. The type was heavily influenced by the brand Supreme and the way they portray there clothing through the use of effective bold simple text shown on there clothing. I feel with more time i would have liked to have produced the whole alphabet with upper and lower case letters and to have showcased my typeface in different mock ups.

I choose these magazines as i felt my typeface could be used in any 3 of these hip hop magazines. From reading these i have gathered some great inspiration on how to present my final typeface and on ways i could change it slightly to fit a certain genre.

In this tutorial we were asked to make a presentation displaying what could be our final design work within InDesign. The presentation i made was very simple just displaying a header page, end page and sub header pages. First i made an A4 poster with my name on it and printed it out ready to be scanned and taken a photo of. Once that was completed i could start on my presentation, i started of by typing out my headers. I used the font Helvetica Neue i liked this font because its simple easy to read and looks stylish within the presentation i was making. Finally i placed my scanned image and photo into the presentation and it was ready to export into a PDF.

TYPE PRESENTATION

 

In this exercise we were told to create a basic logo in Adobe Illustrator, through a step by step tutorial i learned how to use the basic tools within the program. I used line tool and pen tool to create my logo. I also used the type tool to create the text below the logo. I did my design sightly different to the one in the tutorial but i just wanted to experiment with different shapes and tools to get an end result. When i completed my logo I placed it within a frame to show it being seen in an everyday perspective. After the logo was exported i also placed it within in design and played about with the sizing of my image, from making it Illustrator i was able to export it into a vector image so i could size the logo how ever big or small i wanted and the quality of the logo wouldn’t change.
